I’m guessing most of you already know this but Apple released its $3,499 VR headset (Vision Pro) a few days ago.

Its a big deal in VR tech, as Apple has a habit of making new tech mainstream with their products (iPhone, Watch, AirPods etc.)

Meta’s VR headset Quest has sold ~20m units so far, so even if Apple sells 1m units of Vision Pro, that is ~$3.5 Billion in revenue. That’s more than the annual revenue of companies like Pinterest and Roku 😃

Apple’s stock price didn’t move a whole lot in the past week - Vision pro is going to be a drop in the ocean for them.

However, at market cap of $2.85T, Apple remains the most valuable company in the world.

In today’s chart, we do a fun comparison to see just how big Apple is!

Just how big is Apple?

After United States, the world’s largest economies are China, Japan, Germany, India, UK and France (in that order)

As seen from the chart above, Apple’s market cap of $2.85 Trillion is:

Roughly equal to the market cap of 100 largest public companies in France
3% higher than the market cap of 100 largest public companies in UK
20% higher than the market cap of 100 largest public companies in India
29% higher than the market cap of 100 largest public companies in Germany

China and Japan have larger companies but Apple still beats many of them.

Apple’s market cap is larger than the 62 biggest public companies in Japan and 16 biggest public companies in China.

There are big companies and then there is Apple.

Will be very interesting to see how VR, AI and other new tech contributes to Apple’s dominance in coming decade.
